The ImpAct team is delighted to welcome Professor Tobias Heed from the Bielefeld University to give a conference on:
Spatial integration in tactile-motor processing
To plan and execute a movement in response to touch presumably requires a series of transformations between different spatial formats. I will show that spatial information of a tactile target is coded in several spatial reference frames in parallel, and that all these representations are integrated in tactile decision making. Finally, I will present fMRI work that demonstrates different coding for perceptual and motor aspects of touch-to-motor processing.
